Today we left New York and headed to New Hampshire where our friends live. We’re going to spend a few days with them before heading to Vermont for the start of MINI Takes the States.
All in all, it was a pretty quiet trip. Pooka is finally getting the hang of long car trips. She still doesn’t see the point, but she’s settling down and napping so much better.
On our way out of town we stopped at By The Way Bakery. The entire shop is gluten and dairy free! I might have gone a little bit overboard, but I’m always so excited to find a WHOLE place that is safe for me. Not just one mangy cupcake that’s ten times the price of a regular cupcake…. A whole bakery! With all sorts of different, delicious options. Heaven! I bought a lot. A lot, a lot…. Don’t judge!

I got a lemon loaf and cookies too – Not pictured – I may have gone a tiny bit crazy.
Once we made it to New Hampshire we grabbed dinner with our friends at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse. They have a large GF menu on real, separate paper menus! The GF menu is available online too. Lots of options and they even warn you on the menu that the tater tots and fries are cooked in a shared fryer. (Which was fine, I’m still living off of my carb madness from yesterday’s pizza and pasta indulgence.)

Winnie and Pooka did pretty good at dinner. The patio dining is right next to a busy street and for some, unfathomable reason, motorcycles kept driving up and down the street (it was the same ones. You could tell by the fuzzy bunny ears on their helmets.) and they were so freaking loud. I don’t know what the point of that was, but Pooka and Winnie handled the noise pretty well. There was a dog at another table and Pooka didn’t approve of that, but we managed to distract her and she finally settled down.

I want to tell you about the VRBO that we’re staying at tonight, but honestly I’m pretty tired now and I want to take some more pictures first. This place is so freaking cute! I can’t wait to share… but right now I need to go to sleep. I’ll tell you all about the VRBO tomorrow…. promise.
